About The Position
Bay Square at Yarmouth is seeking a Maintenance Director, also referred to in the posting as a Plant Operations Director, to join Benchmark Senior Living. The role is responsible for maintenance and housekeeping functions within an assisted living facility and combines hands-on facility work with administrative and operational responsibilities. The director performs maintenance tasks such as electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general repairs, while interacting with staff and residents and overseeing staff, payroll, operating expenses, supplies, and capital expenditures.
Requirements
- Previous maintenance and housekeeping management experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with an emphasis on HVAC.
- Understanding of applicable life safety regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to run a successful maintenance and housekeeping department.
- Experience in a facilities management capacity.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Diagnostic abilities and attention to detail in completing work.
- Understanding of proper biohazardous waste handling practices.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate people and tasks to complete repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment systems.
- Provide technical support, product information, research, and quality assurance guidance.
- Establish and monitor a preventative maintenance program that supports residents’ and staff’s sense of well-being and the community’s appearance.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and fire codes.
- Perform other maintenance functions as required.
- Oversee maintenance and housekeeping staff, payroll, operational expenses, supplies, and capital expenditures.
- Perform hands-on electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general maintenance tasks.
