About The Position

Tarantino Properties is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds at its community in the Houston - Briar Forest area. The role involves completing routine maintenance and special work orders, preparing apartments for move-in, addressing basic HVAC and plumbing issues, maintaining pool equipment, and assisting with general property upkeep. The assistant also responds to emergency maintenance requests through a rotating on-call schedule. This position suits someone dependable and proactive who can handle a variety of maintenance tasks.

Requirements

• HVAC (A/C) certification required.
• Experience with apartment maintenance, make-ready processes, and work order systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Pool certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform apartment make-ready tasks, including repairs and unit preparation.
• Diagnose and repair basic HVAC systems, furnaces, and air conditioning units.
• Identify and fix plumbing issues, including leaks and minor pipe repairs.
• Maintain pool equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with general property upkeep, including preventative maintenance.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as part of an on-call rotation.
