About The Position

The University of New Orleans is seeking a Mail Processing Coordinator to process Medicaid correspondence received via mail, fax, or designated email. This role involves scanning documents, associating metadata, and entering them into the Enterprise Document Management System (EDMS). The coordinator will also enter descriptive case notes, generate tasks in the LaMEDS system for analysts, communicate issues to their supervisor, and compile monthly productivity reports. The position is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of important Medicaid-related documents.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree plus 3 years of professional work experience, or 4 years professional work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Process Medicaid correspondence sent through the US Postal Service, fax, or designated Medicaid email boxes.
  • Scan and associate metadata with documents, and accept them into the Enterprise Document Management System (EDMS).
  • Enter descriptive case notes into the EDMS based on the documentation received.
  • Generate tasks within the LaMEDS system to alert Analysts that action must be taken on received documents.
  • Communicate issues and pertinent information to the supervisor as necessary through written and verbal communication.
  • Compile monthly productivity reports that track current projects, achievements, and future goals.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
