About The Position

H.O. Penn Machinery is seeking a Machine Sales Inside Sales Representative in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role involves handling customer inquiries, contributing to machine sales by re-establishing contact with existing accounts, and enhancing the overall customer experience. The position offers a base salary of $50,000 plus commission.

Requirements

Previous customer service, sales, retail, or inside sales experience highly preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with CRM systems is a plus
Must have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively articulate features and benefits to demonstrate value
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Strong organization, time management, and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout H.O. Penn's territory as needed

Responsibilities

Professionally handle walk in and phone inquiries to secure business when opportunities arise
Create an immediate buying atmosphere for walk in customers by greeting them in a welcoming and professional manner
Utilize all of the sales tools to assist in closing business, including but not limited to, probing questions, financial merchandising, Extended Protection Plan options, negotiating skills, product knowledge
Qualify all leads and pass along to Outside Sales Reps as appropriate
Ensure machine display and demo areas (if applicable) are presentable, have the needed machines and are ready for use with customers
Contribute to the success of the Machine Sales Department by re-establishing and maintaining contact with assigned small to medium sized (BCP) customer accounts to increase machine sales
For accounts on your customer list, manage them effectively by scheduling calls based on a predetermined frequency to ensure all customers are contacted annually and 100% PAR completion is achieved
Update the customer’s account/machine information in the CRM system and begin to develop a business relationship
Develop and utilize telephone sales concepts to maximize sales call effectiveness
Strategize with the Sales Manager and Outside Sales Reps on efforts to target particular territories and customers
Support marketing efforts with activities such as attending customer events, participating in sales blitzes and conducting campaign follow up
Effectively and efficiently contribute to the quality of the customers' experience with H.O. Penn Machinery Company
Take ownership of customer problems, even when not directly responsible and follow-up to ensure proper resolution
Continually strive to develop product/industry knowledge and business intellect
Adequately represent the customers' needs to H.O. Penn Machinery
Utilize the various technologies and tools at hand (computer-based analytical tools, seminars, etc.) to communicate the value of Caterpillar and H.O. Penn products and services to a customers’ operations
Act as a liaison between departments to share information and ensure customer needs are addressed
