Jennie-O Turkey Store - Machine Operator, 1st Shift - Montevideo
About The Position
This position is responsible for performing machine, line set up/tear down, and changeover functions. The Machine Operator will work with coworkers to achieve and maintain production goals, ensuring sanitation procedures are performed and satisfy GMP requirements. This role involves monitoring product quality, productivity, yield, and scheduling issues, as well as verifying production compliance with specifications. The operator must ensure safety equipment is used, lockout/tagout procedures are practiced, and job rotation procedures are followed. Additionally, they will ensure tear down and dry cleanup is completed at the end of the shift and record/complete delay and production reports.
Requirements
- Must understand and apply the concepts of the J-OTS Team Charter, Team Commitment, and Managing Principles
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work harmoniously with people

- Ability to troubleshoot and solve minor mechanical problems

- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Work in cold environment, 32-40 degrees
- Ability to become lockout/tagout trained
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and be able to communicate with management

- Monitor and verify that production is in compliance with specifications
- Insure safety equipment is used, lockout/tagout procedures practiced, and job rotation procedures followed
- Insure tear down and dry cleanup is completed at end of shift
- Record and complete delay and production reports
