About The Position

The LVN provides nursing support in an urgent care setting within the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network. The role prepares exam and procedure rooms, performs initial patient intake, supports patient examinations and treatments, and coordinates care with providers. The LVN also serves as a patient advocate and contributes to clinical quality assurance and compliance.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited Vocational Nurse program.
Valid California LVN license.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross.
IV/BW (intravenous/blood withdrawal) certification required within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of LVN experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up exam and procedure rooms according to patient visit needs.
Perform initial nursing intake and prepare patients for examination.
Review current medications and medical-record documents; prepare charts and record relevant information, including vital signs and the reason for the visit.
Coordinate prescribed medications, injections, and IV medications through standard processes and as advised by the provider.
Provide basic patient care and treatments, including taking vital signs, performing diagnostic tests and phlebotomy, and collecting specimens as advised by the provider.
Observe patients, document and report changes in condition to the provider, and follow instructions for appropriate care actions.
Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes within the LVN scope of practice.
Answer incoming patient and physician messages with provider input.
Advocate for patients and apply appropriate resources to support patient care.
Review MA skills and performance abilities using designated evaluation tools.
Perform quality assurance and quality control measures to maintain clinical-environment compliance.
