About The Position

Triad Truck Equipment is hiring a Welder at its Pottstown, Pennsylvania location. The role assembles pieces of metal using heavy machinery that generates heat to melt and shape metal. Duties may also include reading blueprints, cutting metal to shape, and smoothing molten metal to remove creases. The position also includes vehicle inspection and repair-order documentation, keeping current with manufacturer information and training, and following safety and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Successful completion of background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Read, assemble, and weld components from blueprints.
Prepare, assemble, and tack-weld parts and surfaces.
Monitor welding, burning, and fitting to prevent overheating or damage from warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
Inspect completed work for quality.
Maintain a safe and clean work area.
Notify a supervisor about faulty equipment or defective materials.
Examine assigned vehicles to determine whether additional safety or service work is required or recommended.
Promptly communicate with the shop foreman when additional work is needed, listed work is unnecessary, or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Document work performed and recommended on repair orders.
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events, and keep current with manufacturer technical bulletins.
Supervise apprentice technicians when assigned.
Maintain and account for company-owned tools and manuals, returning them to their proper place and condition.
Comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous-waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know requirements.
Operate tools and equipment safely and report safety issues promptly to management.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
