LPN-Acute Care - Observation Unit
About The Position
The LPN provides nursing care under the direct supervision of a provider or registered nurse in a 25-bed Observation Unit. The unit provides short-term evaluation, treatment, and assessment for patients who do not require full hospital admission, including patients with chest pain, TIA, respiratory illnesses, and COPD exacerbation. Staff monitor and assess patients to help determine whether further care or discharge is appropriate. The position is located at 744 S Webster Ave, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and is casual part-time at 0.30 FTE (12 hours per week), with variable shifts, an every-third-weekend rotation, and a holiday rotation.
Requirements
- Valid Wisconsin LPN license.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care under the direct supervision of a provider or registered nurse.
- Record care provided and report changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate person.
- Consult with the registered nurse or provider when uncertain about a nursing or medical act.
- Provide basic health instructions and reinforce teaching provided by other health team members.
