About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, addressing patients’ psychological and physical needs in accordance with physicians’ orders, JCAHO and OSHA requirements, and nursing and department guidelines. The role supports continuity and quality of care in the best interests of patients and their families. The position is full-time at the hospital in Benton, Kentucky. Requirements

Valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Kentucky.
Certification in CPR.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Current knowledge of medication actions, administration, side effects, and contraindications.

Responsibilities

Conduct and document a thorough assessment of each patient’s medical status upon admission and throughout treatment.
Assist in implementing the patient’s treatment plan under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Provide routine nursing services as directed by the Registered Nurse.
Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
Provide regular patient status updates to appropriate personnel.
Attend and participate in department and facility meetings as required.
Comply with hospital, regulatory, and professional standards and guidelines.
Pursue continuing education appropriate to the discipline and responsibilities to maintain clinical currency.
Follow facility policies and procedures and participate in quality improvement and safety programs.
Use manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
Perform other duties as assigned.
