About The Position

Brightstar seeks a Lottery Field Services Technician in Saint Ignace, MI to service equipment at retailer locations. This role is part of our award-winning lottery services team and involves regular fieldwork, driving, and customer support. The technician will be responsible for transporting, installing, and maintaining Brightstar equipment, replacement parts, tools, and supplies in an organized and structured manner. They will also be responsible for maintaining equipment to promote continuous operation, troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment, and communicating effectively with Dispatchers. Additionally, the role involves delivering marketing supplies and consumable parts, tracking inventory, and providing basic training to retailers. Completing primary forms for reporting activities and equipment problems is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED equivalent required.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a customer service-related position.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in technical repairs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, have a good driving record, and demonstrate the ability to perceive colors correctly.
  • Must be able to drive a 20ft box truck on occasion, CDL license NOT required.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder, lift and carry equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds for a significant distance.
  • Must be able to transport with the assistance of a colleague and lifting equipment, up to 800lbs.
  • Must be able to sit and drive for prolonged periods of time, demonstrate dexterity when working with tools and work with moving parts and electrical current.
  • May work at heights (rooftop) for installation of equipment, work in close quarters, and/or be exposed to inclement weather during some installations.
  • Must reside in proximity to the area of coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Transporting, installing, and maintaining Brightstar equipment, replacement parts, tools, and supplies in an organized and structured manner.
  • Maintaining equipment to promote the continuous operation of Brightstar equipment.
  • Troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment to restore it to working order in the field, which may include swapping failed equipment, cleaning it, and making minor adjustments.
  • Communicating effectively and efficiently with Dispatchers, accurately reporting activity, arrival and departure times, problems, details, and resolutions of failures.
  • Delivering marketing supplies and consumable parts, such as paper, ribbons, and bet slips, and tracking the inventory of these items.
  • Delivering basic training to new retailers or refresher/remedial training to retailers performing procedures incorrectly.
  • Completing primary forms for reporting activities, equipment problems, recommendations for procedure improvements, etc.
