Loss Prevention Store Detective
About The Position
The Loss Prevention Store Detective completes daily tasks related to store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, conducts apprehensions in accordance with established policies, and communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The position supports investigations, surveillance, evidence handling, legal activities, and shrink-reduction programs. It also promotes customer service, honesty, confidentiality, and safety, and completes required paperwork accurately and on time.

Responsibilities
- Complete daily tasks required for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs.
- Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
- Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines.
- Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
- Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
- Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
- Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
- Promote honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
- Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
- Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
- Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
- Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
- Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed.
- Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Encourage Associates to use shrink-reduction resources.
- Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
