About The Position

The Loss Prevention Store Detective completes daily tasks for store loss prevention and safety programs while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management and communicating with Associates about damage and shrink initiatives. The role identifies and resolves internal and external theft, observes, apprehends, or deters dishonesty, and conducts apprehensions according to established policies and guidelines. It also participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned, supports store shrink-reduction goals, and encourages Associates to use shrink-reduction resources. The position provides timely, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service and promotes honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and safety. Responsibilities include completing and distributing accurate paperwork on time, maintaining appropriate evidence, understanding law-enforcement procedures, and participating professionally in legal activities as needed. The detective coordinates shrink-related activities with Store Management and follows labor laws, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines.
Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
Maintain appropriate evidence, demonstrate understanding of law-enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed.
Coordinate shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Encourage Associate use of shrink-reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
