About The Position

The Loss Prevention Detective completes daily store loss prevention and safety program tasks while maintaining positive relationships with Store Management. The role conducts apprehensions according to established policies and guidelines, communicates with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives, and identifies and resolves internal and external theft. The position supports shrink reduction goals and programs, participates in assigned investigations and surveillance, maintains appropriate evidence and accurate paperwork, and professionally participates in legal activities as needed. It also promotes customer service, honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and safety awareness, and helps maintain a safe store environment.

0–2 years of retail or security experience.

Responsibilities

Complete daily tasks required for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs.
Maintain positive relationships with Store Management.
Conduct apprehensions within established policies and guidelines.
Communicate with store Associates about damage and shrink initiatives.
Identify and resolve internal and external theft.
Adhere to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provide timely, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Observe, apprehend, and/or deter acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participate in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
Complete and distribute paperwork accurately and on time.
Maintain appropriate evidence, understand law enforcement procedures, and participate professionally in legal activities as needed, such as police calls.
Coordinate and complete shrink-related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Encourage Associate use of shrink reduction resources.
Promote safety awareness and support maintenance of a safe environment.
