This frontline leadership role owns the day-to-day operation of an assigned area and works with little supervision to assist the supervisor in managing the area and its employees. The lead is fully competent in the area’s operations, provides guidance to operators, and assumes the supervisor’s duties and responsibilities when needed. The position supports workforce planning and scheduling while promoting safety and production. The role includes directing and coordinating daily work, supporting HSSE and procedural compliance, tracking project costs and hours, controlling scrap costs, and ensuring production priorities are met. It also involves staging stock and products for subsequent shifts, identifying workflow obstacles and possible solutions, training and guiding operators, and serving as a role model. The lead works with drawings, prepares units and equipment for shipment, understands preservation processes, and completes ITPs. The position requires frequent computer and office-equipment use and constant operation of heavy equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts. Work includes outdoor and loud environments, use of required personal protective equipment, and travel approximately 10% of the time. Employees must rarely drive.
