About The Position

Leeco Steel is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage shipping and receiving documentation for inbound and outbound steel plate loads. The role coordinates with transportation providers to ensure prompt shipments and pickups that meet customer due dates accurately and cost-effectively. The coordinator arranges and coordinates product shipments to customers according to planned shipping schedules and manages warehouse traffic flow.

Requirements

Experience in a logistics-related field.
Knowledge of computers and common office equipment.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and negotiate freight rates with transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
Monitor outbound shipments to ensure orders are in transit as scheduled.
Communicate issues, delays, or budget restraints to the sales team.
Review purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy.
Prepare Bills of Lading and send finalized shipping documents to billing.
Develop processes to make the supply chain more efficient and organized.
Enter receivers and manifests for material arriving from steel mills by rail or truck.
Manage a shipping schedule that accurately reflects daily sales and billing shipments.
Read and understand material certifications.
Manage and ensure traffic flow through the warehouse is working.
Arrange and coordinate product shipments to customers according to planned shipping schedules and in a cost-effective manner.
