About The Position

Tessco is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Reno, Nevada, to manage and optimize transportation activities supporting inbound, outbound, and third-party shipments across Alliance Hold Co. The role ensures materials, equipment, and finished goods move efficiently among suppliers, distribution centers, and customers while maintaining cost-effectiveness, accuracy, and service-level compliance. It also offers the opportunity to take on greater analytical responsibility, including transportation modeling and performance reporting.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in logistics or transportation.
• Experience with parcel, LTL, and FTL shipping.
• Working knowledge of international logistics and Incoterms.
• Knowledge of freight markets and transportation regulations.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in telecom, distribution, or electronics, including familiarity with telecom products and distribution challenges such as site-specific deliveries and critical project timing.
• Understanding of network optimization or route planning software.
• Experience with FreightPOP (TMS) or NetSuite (ERP).

Responsibilities

• Support carrier selection by evaluating rates, performance, and capacity.
• Monitor domestic and international daily shipments—including parcel, LTL, FTL, and air freight—and ensure alignment with delivery SLAs and customer expectations.
• Assist with international shipments as needed, working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
• Track and report KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per mile, damage rates, and order cycle time.
• Assist in developing transportation models and simulations to forecast shipping needs and optimize routing.
• Collaborate with 3PLs, carriers, and internal warehouse teams to streamline inbound and outbound transportation processes.
• Use Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to manage shipments, improve visibility, and maintain accurate data.
• Resolve shipping delays, damage claims, and service issues promptly and professionally.
