About The Position

The Enterprise Special Services team is seeking an Account Specialist to improve the inbound transportation experience for vendors and sellers. The role works directly with shippers to identify issues, develop practical solutions, and improve shipper performance metrics. It contributes to transportation and logistics improvement by evaluating network defects, coaching shippers, and supporting performance management initiatives.

The position involves monitoring transportation and performance data, addressing disruptions, identifying root causes, documenting shipper activity, and leading regular performance and business review calls. It also requires coordinating with internal and external partners, preparing operational and process-improvement documents, and building strong shipper relationships through communication, coaching, and customer service.

This is a contract-to-hire position based in Tempe, Arizona. It is fully onsite. The stated pay range is $23.00 per hour. Training and support for technical and process-related skills are provided.

Requirements

• Account management experience with a strong customer-service orientation.
• Ability to interpret performance metrics and use basic data-analysis skills.
• Entry-level Microsoft Excel knowledge and familiarity with using spreadsheets to navigate and interpret data.
• Ability to write clear documents, such as process-improvement proposals and operational updates.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain positive relationships with shippers and internal teams.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to lead calls and present data.
• Problem-solving skills in transportation, intermodal operations, or supply chain settings.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple shippers, daily logs, and recurring meetings.
• Customer-focused approach and ability to coach and support shippers to improve performance.
• Ability to balance lowest-cost provider options with service quality and operational constraints.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
• Interest in transportation, intermodal operations, and broader supply chain management.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a comparable environment is preferred, but not strictly required.
• Experience in relationship-driven, fast-paced industries such as event coordination, real estate, sales, or restaurants may be effective.
• Ability to quickly establish trust with customers and stakeholders.
• Motivation to pursue long-term opportunities, including potential full-time conversion, through strong performance.
• Comfort working with top-tier customers and supporting high-visibility accounts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, verify, and present transportation and performance data daily.
• Resolve transportation disruptions and operational barriers in real time to maintain service levels.
• Identify root causes of transportation defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed daily logs and documentation for assigned shippers.
• Lead weekly calls with assigned shippers to review performance, discuss issues, and align on improvement plans.
• Lead Daily Business Review stand-up calls to share updates, highlight risks, and coordinate actions with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams on process improvements and initiatives to enhance the shipper experience.
• Prepare written documents, including process-improvement proposals and performance updates.
• Build shipper relationships through communication, coaching, and customer service.
• Coordinate solutions across transportation, intermodal, and supply chain partners when disruptions occur.
