About The Position

Backhaul Direct is hiring a Logistics Account Manager for our Indianapolis, IN office. This role will support our Detroit (DTW) pod and play a key part in managing and scaling customer freight as volumes increase. The Logistics Account Manager is responsible for day-to-day account execution, customer communication, and delivering reliable transportation solutions. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced brokerage environment, communicates effectively, and takes ownership of their accounts from start to finish. Who is Backhaul Direct? Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in logistics, brokerage, account management, or operations
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • High sense of urgency and accountability
  • Self-starter mentality with a team-oriented approach

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field)
  • Experience with freight brokerage or 3PL operations is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations for assigned customer accounts
  • Coordinate shipments from pickup through delivery, ensuring service expectations are met
  • Act as the primary point of contact between customers, carriers, and internal teams
  • Proactively identify and solve service issues, delays, or disruptions
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication
  • Work cross-functionally with sales and operations to support account growth
  • Prioritize and manage multiple shipments and accounts in a fast-paced environment
  • Anticipate customer needs and provide solutions that drive long-term success
