About The Position

Backhaul Direct is hiring a Logistics Account Manager for our Indianapolis, IN office. This role will support our Detroit (DTW) pod and play a key part in managing and scaling customer freight as volumes increase. The Logistics Account Manager is responsible for day-to-day account execution, customer communication, and delivering reliable transportation solutions. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced brokerage environment, communicates effectively, and takes ownership of their accounts from start to finish. Who is Backhaul Direct? Requirements

2-5 years of experience in logistics, brokerage, account management, or operations
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
High sense of urgency and accountability
Self-starter mentality with a team-oriented approach

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field)
Experience with freight brokerage or 3PL operations is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day operations for assigned customer accounts
Coordinate shipments from pickup through delivery, ensuring service expectations are met
Act as the primary point of contact between customers, carriers, and internal teams
Proactively identify and solve service issues, delays, or disruptions
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication
Work cross-functionally with sales and operations to support account growth
Prioritize and manage multiple shipments and accounts in a fast-paced environment
Anticipate customer needs and provide solutions that drive long-term success
