About The Position

This is a full-time locum physician position in Orthopedic Surgery, involving a combination of clinic and call responsibilities for both inpatient and outpatient services. The role requires a comprehensive approach to orthopedic care, with a preference for candidates experienced in trauma surgery. Responsibilities include managing new and established patients, performing procedures, handling elective surgeries, and providing emergent surgical interventions in a level 2 trauma center. The position utilizes EPIC for EMR and Dragon for dictation.

Requirements

Must possess comprehensive experience in orthopedic surgery.
Certification in Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) is required.
Must provide documentation of performing 50 orthopedic surgery cases within the last 12 months.
Board Certified (or actively Board Eligible).
Background check returns clear.
Office of Inspector General (OIG) search clears.
Active Michigan medical license/participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is mandatory.

Nice To Haves

Trauma background is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform full-spectrum Orthopedic Surgery, with a preference for candidates with a trauma background.
Cover all musculoskeletal trauma and elective procedures.
Handle new and established patients in the office.
Perform injections and procedures in the clinic.
Address elective surgeries.
Reassess follow-ups from emergency cases.
Manage comprehensive outpatient orthopedic care.
Provide consultations during call duties.
Perform rounding during call duties.
Conduct emergent surgical interventions during call duties.
Provide general orthopedic care during call duties.
Fulfill responsibilities in a level 2 trauma center during call duties.
