About The Position

This on-site contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services within a dynamic and patient-focused clinical environment. As a locum physician, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of care and supporting our radiology department's daily operations. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting a wide range of imaging studies, consulting with referring physicians, and delivering accurate, timely diagnostic reports. Your expertise will directly contribute to improved patient outcomes and the overall efficiency of our practice. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in Radiology
  • Valid and unrestricted state medical license (or ability to obtain one prior to start)
  • Prior clinical experience in diagnostic radiology is required; associate-level candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong interpretive skills across multiple imaging modalities, including plain film, CT, and MRI
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong clinical judgment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with physicians and staff
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and PACS systems
  • Commitment to maintaining continuing medical education (CME) and licensure requirements
  • Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Nice To Haves

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and report on diagnostic imaging studies, including X-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other modalities
  • Consult with referring physicians to discuss imaging findings and recommend appropriate follow-up
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all radiology reports in the electronic medical record system
  • Adhere to established protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements for radiation and patient safety
  • Collaborate with radiologic technologists and support staff to optimize image quality and workflow
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences as needed
  • Provide coverage for scheduled shifts, including coverage for absences and peak demand periods
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging imaging technologies and best practices in radiology
  • Support quality assurance initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement in diagnostic services
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families when required to explain procedures or results
