About The Position
This contract, on-site position offers an immediate opportunity to provide high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification or active board eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Florida.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in emergency medicine or a comparable acute care setting.
- Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, on a contract basis.
- DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances in accordance with state regulations.
Nice To Haves
- ATLS certification is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and trauma.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans, including medication management and emergency interventions.
- Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate appropriate admissions or transfers as needed.
- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and ancillary staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
- Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
- Adhere to all medical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance emergency department performance.
- Provide coverage as scheduled, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the contract agreement.
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices and emerging developments in emergency medicine.
