Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Cardiology
About The Position
This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced cardiology physician to provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative healthcare environment. Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or board eligibility in Cardiology
- Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Vermont (or ability to obtain licensure)
- Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in cardiology or a related field
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective patient and team interaction
- Ability to work independently and manage a variable caseload in a contract role
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred
- ACLS, BLS, CPR, CSR, and DEA required

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive cardiovascular assessment and diagnostic services for patients
- Interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, and other cardiac diagnostic studies
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with cardiac conditions
- Manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions, including heart failure, arrhythmias, and coronary artery disease
- Collaborate with primary care physicians, nurses, and other specialists to coordinate patient care
- Perform and document thorough patient histories, physical examinations, and progress notes
- Educate patients and their families on cardiac health, treatment options, and preventive care
- Participate in on-call coverage and respond to cardiac emergencies as needed
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures
- Ensure compliance with all medical regulations, protocols, and documentation standards
