About The Position

This on-site, contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality gastrointestinal care to patients while supporting our clinical team. As a Locum Gastroenterology physician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and managing a broad range of digestive disorders, performing endoscopic procedures, and collaborating with primary care physicians and specialists. Your expertise will help us maintain continuity of care and meet the needs of our growing patient population.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology.
  • Active state medical licensure and DEA registration, or the ability to obtain them prior to starting the assignment.
  • Fellowship-trained in an ACGME-approved gastroenterology program.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience as an Associate-level physician managing gastroenterology patients.
  • Proficiency in endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and related interventions.
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site medical practice setting.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism, ethics, and quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations for gastrointestinal conditions.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and related gastroenterological screenings.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based guidelines.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians, surgeons, and allied health care professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Document patient histories, findings, and treatment outcomes accurately in electronic health record systems.
  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive gastroenterology care.
  • Participate in on-site clinical rounds, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with medical practice standards, patient safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain continuity of care during scheduled clinical coverage and handoff communications.
