About The Position

This on-site, contract position offers a compelling opportunity for an Associate-level physician to deliver high-quality gastroenterology care in a dynamic clinical environment. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal disorders, performing endoscopic procedures, and developing personalized treatment plans that improve patient outcomes. Working within the Medical Practice industry, you will collaborate closely with primary care physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in Gastroenterology
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Texas
  • Associate-level experience (typically 2–5 years) in gastroenterology or a related clinical setting
  • Proficiency in endoscopic procedures and interpretation of gastrointestinal diagnostic results
  • Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic acumen, and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and care teams
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety, quality care, and confidentiality
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification, with ability to obtain or verify prior to start
  • Any active, unrestricted U.S. medical license accepted

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive gastroenterology consultations and ongoing care for patients with gastrointestinal conditions
  • Perform and interpret endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, and biopsies
  • Diagnose and manage a broad range of GI disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease, GERD, and liver disease
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized patient treatment plans based on clinical findings
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
  • Document all patient encounters accurately, thoroughly, and in compliance with medical and legal regulations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and laboratory panels, to support clinical decision-making
  • Counsel patients and families on preventive care, disease management, and lifestyle modifications
  • Participate in on-call coverage rotations and respond promptly to in-patient consults as scheduled
  • Maintain current knowledge of advancements in gastroenterology and evidence-based best practices
