About The Position

This contract, on-site position offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver comprehensive primary care services in a supportive, patient-focused healthcare environment. As a Locum Family Medicine physician, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, promoting preventative care, and improving overall community health outcomes. You will collaborate closely with our clinical team to ensure continuity of care and maintain the highest standards of medical practice across all patient interactions.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine or a related primary care specialty
  • Active and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the state of New York
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in family medicine, primary care, or urgent care settings
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent patient communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical documentation
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • Current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary care team
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care
  • Flexibility to work on-site in Corning and adapt to varying patient volumes and scheduling needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive family medicine care to patients of all ages
  • Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and injuries
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical best practices
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging
  • Prescribe medications and manage ongoing patient medication regimens
  • Educate patients on preventative care, wellness strategies, and healthy lifestyle choices
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Collaborate with nurses, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
  • Provide on-site coverage and respond promptly to urgent patient needs during scheduled shifts
  • Maintain compliance with all medical practice standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Support patient follow-up care and ensure smooth transitions between providers
