About The Position
This is an on-site, contract opportunity designed for an Associate-level physician who is ready to provide high-quality psychiatric care in a community-focused environment. As a Locum MD, you will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and support patients across child, adolescent, and adult populations. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and positive mental health outcomes. This contract role offers a yearly salary interval and provides meaningful professional flexibility while maintaining an on-site presence in Anadarko.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Valid medical license in good standing; ability to obtain licensure in the practice location
- Associate-level clinical experience in psychiatric assessment and treatment
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, treatment modalities, and medication management
- Experience working with child and adolescent populations is essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient, family, and team interactions
- Ability to work effectively in an on-site, contract-based care model
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and cultural competency
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary medical practice team
- Must be board-certified
- Additional Certifications: DEA, ACLS, and BLS
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for child, adolescent, and adult patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications as clinically appropriate
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric consultation when needed
- Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and follow-up care
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support continuity of care through clear communication with referring providers and care teams
- Provide on-site psychiatric coverage for scheduled clinics and patient care needs
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the psychiatric service line
