About The Position

This is an on-site, contract position tailored for an associate-level psychiatrist seeking to provide high-quality psychiatric care in a dynamic clinical environment. As part of our Psychiatry department, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive psychiatric services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for a diverse patient population. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of providing accessible and effective mental health care within the community.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state where the position is located
  • Experience at the associate level in psychiatric care, with a track record of providing quality patient care
  • Strong clinical skills in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical documentation
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to mental health care
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical medical practices
  • Flexibility to work under a contract arrangement, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced medical practice environment
  • Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one for prescribing purposes

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of patients presenting with mental health concerns
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and evidence-based guidelines
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatments as necessary
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
  • Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
  • Provide consultation to primary care providers or other health professionals regarding psychiatric cases
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing psychiatric services
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable medical regulations, ethical standards, and practice policies
  • Stay current with advances in psychiatric research, treatments, and best practices via continuous learning
