Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Psychiatry
About The Position
This full-time, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an entry-level physician to make a meaningful impact in the field of mental health and psychiatric care. As a Locum Psychiatry Physician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, and developing individualized treatment plans. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in a supportive clinical environment that values collaboration, patient-centered care, and continuous professional growth.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency program in Psychiatry (recent graduates or early-career physicians welcome).
- Valid medical license to practice as a physician.
- Strong clinical knowledge of psychiatric disorders, diagnostic criteria, and evidence-based treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong problem-solving and clinical decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Must be board-certified

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions as appropriate.
- Collaborate with psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records in compliance with facility standards.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources.
- Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated care.
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention when needed.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric research, treatments, and best practices.
