Requirements

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania (or eligibility to obtain one)
  • Active DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of psychiatric clinical experience, including residency training
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatments
  • Excellent diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and telepsychiatry tools (if applicable)
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent, patient-centered care
  • Malpractice insurance coverage (or ability to obtain it for the assignment)

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry is strongly preferred
  • Must be board-certified

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for adult patients
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management
  • Conduct follow-up appointments to monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Participate in on-site care team meetings and case consultations
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric consultations when required
  • Ensure compliance with all medical, legal, and ethical standards in psychiatric practice
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the practice
