Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification or active candidacy in Psychiatry
- Active medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one
- Associate-level experience in psychiatric clinical practice
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in psychopharmacology and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work on-site in Houston, Texas
- Willingness to work on a contract basis with flexible scheduling
- Commitment to patient-centered care, confidentiality, and ethical practice
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Must be CL
- Must be board-certified
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult and adolescent patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications with appropriate follow-up
- Provide psychotherapy and behavioral health counseling services
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records
- Participate in on-call coverage and emergency psychiatric consultations as required
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions and treatment options
- Stay current with advances in psychiatric medicine and evidence-based practices
- Ensure compliance with medical practice standards, legal regulations, and ethical guidelines
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for patients in acute psychiatric distress
