About The Position
This contract, on-site position offers a dynamic opportunity to deliver high-quality mental health care within the Medical Practice industry. As a Locum Physician, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support the mental well-being of patients while bringing flexibility and specialized expertise to our clinical operations.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry, with subspecialty training or experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Valid medical license to practice in the applicable jurisdiction
- Associate-level clinical experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based treatment modalities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-facing skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced medical environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care, confidentiality, and ethical practice
- Current DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
- Adaptability and resilience in responding to acute psychiatric presentations
- Strong documentation, organizational, and time-management skills
- Must be board-certified
- DEA, ACLS, and BLS certifications
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications effectively
- Provide psychotherapy and behavioral interventions as appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records
- Participate in case reviews, clinical consultations, and treatment team meetings
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Perform risk assessments and provide crisis intervention when needed
- Ensure compliance with medical, ethical, and legal standards
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives in psychiatric care
- Adapt to varying clinical schedules and patient needs in a locum capacity
