The Local Driver operates a concrete mixer truck to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites. The driver conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, and driver-operated loading and unloading controls. The driver uses a map book and experience to select direct routes and support on-time deliveries, and safely maneuvers the truck over potentially unstable job-site ground while observing customer equipment and site conditions. At the end of each shift, the driver washes the truck with a hose and brush, using an acidic solution when necessary. Drivers are responsible for calling in each day to confirm their start time. The role averages 10 hours per day, 4–6 days per week, and requires frequent lifting of 50 pounds and working in temperature extremes. Applicants need a Class A or B CDL and must be able to pass a federal DOT drug screen and physical. A high school diploma is the minimum education listed; alternatively, the posting accepts one to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
