About The Position

Drives a truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites. The driver performs DOT-required pre-trip and post-trip inspections, takes an efficient route to deliver on time, and safely maneuvers the truck on job sites that may have unstable ground. The role includes observing customer equipment and site conditions, washing the truck after each shift, and calling in each day to confirm the start time.

Requirements

• Class A or B CDL required.
• High school diploma, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to pass a Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical.
• Maintain a driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations.
• Ability to handle cash and make change.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Drive a concrete mixer truck to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites.
• Perform DOT-required pre-trip inspections, including checking engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes, and driver-operated loading and unloading controls.
• Use a map book and experience to select a direct route and ensure on-time delivery.
• Safely maneuver the truck on job sites, including in unstable ground conditions.
• Observe customer equipment and job-site conditions safely.
• Wash the truck with a hose and brush after each shift, using acidic solution when necessary.
• Call in each day to confirm the start time.
• Perform DOT-required post-trip inspections.
