The Local Driver operates a truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites. The driver conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations, including checking vehicle fluids, tire pressure, brakes, and controls used for loading and unloading. Drivers use a map book and their experience to take a direct route and make timely deliveries. At job sites, they must safely maneuver the truck in potentially unstable ground conditions and observe customer equipment and site conditions. After each shift, drivers wash the truck with a hose and brush, using an acidic solution when necessary. Drivers are responsible for calling callout each day to receive their start time. The role averages 10 hours per day, 4–6 days per week, involves frequently lifting 50 pounds, and may expose the driver to extreme temperatures. Candidates must have a Class A or B CDL and be able to pass a federal DOT drug screen and physical. The employer advertises a sign-on bonus and offers benefits including paid time off, medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability insurance, and a 401(k).
