About The Position

Responsible for delivering and picking up containers at customer locations, providing safe and incident-free service while maintaining excellent customer rapport. The role involves operating a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism, completing vehicle and equipment inspections, using company technology for delivery verification and navigation, and supporting customer transactions and storage-center operations. The driver may also perform field repairs and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class B license without an air-brake restriction.
• Maintain a current and valid driver license.
• Meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards.
• Be at least 21 years of age due to insurance requirements.
• Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or be able to obtain a minimum one-year certification.
• Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties.
• Ability to attend the required two-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, or experience may be considered.

• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers safely at customer sites, following all safety rules.
• Perform and log daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the commercial vehicle and lift.
• Accept add-on deliveries as required to meet business needs.
• Use a company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
• Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane.
• Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for customer delivery.
• Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with customers.
• Communicate customer questions or issues to the Driver Lead or Market Manager and prepare driver notes as needed.
• Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center.
• Provide backup for storage-center functions when needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the truck cab, inside and outside.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
