About The Position

PODS is hiring a local CDL Driver to safely deliver and pick up PODS containers in residential and business settings. Drivers operate a commercial truck equipped with a lift mechanism, interact directly with customers, and ensure deliveries are completed professionally, efficiently, and safely. The position is based within a local territory, with no over-the-road requirements, and drivers return home daily. When not driving, the employee helps with storage center functions, forklift operation, and light container maintenance. The role includes outdoor work in all weather conditions and physical activity such as climbing into and out of the cab and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds or applying up to 40 pounds of pressure to operate equipment. The advertised base pay is $24.50–$25.50 per hour, with regular overtime opportunities and eligibility for performance-based incentives. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is advertised.

Requirements

Valid CDL license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 21 years old.
Possess or be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
At least 3 months of professional driving experience.
No moving violations in the past three years.
Strong spatial relations skills, including the ability to park and maneuver in tight residential spaces.
Ability to climb in and out of the cab using three points of contact.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds or apply up to 40 pounds of pressure to operate equipment.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Customer-focused approach and commitment to service excellence.
Basic math skills and ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a commercial truck equipped with a lift mechanism to load and unload containers at residential and business locations.
Complete local deliveries and pickups in accordance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep the truck cab and equipment clean and inspection-ready.
Use company-provided handheld devices for navigation, delivery confirmation, and communication.
Represent the PODS brand, answer customer questions, determine suitable container placement, and ensure containers are clean and presentable.
Assist with storage center functions, forklift operation, and light container maintenance when not driving.
