About The Position

The Loader Operator works at the company’s sawmill in Graham, North Carolina, supporting daily mill operations as part of a team. This permanent, full-time position works Monday through Friday. Requirements

• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience in an industrial environment operating heavy-duty equipment.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for the entire 8–12-hour shift and climb in and out of machinery without assistance.
• Frequently able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and with exposure to dust, vibration, and high noise levels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A high degree of urgency and attention to detail.
• Desire to learn, grow, and succeed.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of the wood manufacturing industry.
• Machine operator and maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload logs as directed to meet production expectations.
• Remove logs from the kick out bin daily using the knuckle-boom loader.
• Take painted and oversized logs to the metal yard and return other logs to the log deck.
• Perform daily cleanup around the metal log field and kick out bin.
• Fill in at the Scalehouse as needed, performing scale functions and loading and unloading logs.
• Perform or assist with weekly preventative maintenance on machinery and complete daily check sheets.
• Follow safety rules and procedures, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and promote safe work practices.
