About The Position

The Loader Operator operates material-handling equipment safely and productively, including dump trucks, wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, and forklifts. The role also involves performing minor equipment maintenance, inspecting and preparing equipment for operation, loading containers, sorting scrap, sampling material, and assisting with inventory tracking and classification changes. The operator may be asked to cross-train on different equipment and perform other duties assigned by a lead or supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks, wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment safely and productively.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance, including changing hoses, greasing machines, and checking and filling fluids.
• Load containers, sort scrap, sample material, and perform other assigned duties.
• Inspect equipment before operation, and fuel and lubricate it daily.
• Assist the lead and supervisor with identifying and tracking inventory upgrades and classification changes to support perpetual inventory goals.
• Cross-train on various equipment types.
• Perform other duties as requested by the lead or supervisor.
