About The Position

The Loader Operator moves material throughout the factory to support smooth receiving, stocking, and shipping. The role involves directing truck drivers during loading and unloading; operating scales and packaging equipment; handling materials at the standard rate of production; inspecting material-handling equipment; and visually differentiating between similar metals. The operator may also assist in other areas and perform other duties as needed.

The work environment is usually very loud and includes regular proximity to moving mechanical parts. Processing areas may be dirty, wet, and dusty. Buildings are heated during winter, though conditions may be cold in winter and hot in summer. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds several times per day. The posting lists second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and third shift from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to consistently comply with PPE and safety standards while on production premises.
• Pass certifications on all materials-handling equipment on site.
• Experience working in a 24/7 production environment.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Direct truck drivers during loading and unloading.
• Operate the scale and accurately record weights and dimensions.
• Operate packaging equipment to securely transport inbound, cross-dock, and outbound loads.
• Load and unload material at the standard rate of production.
• Inspect material-handling equipment before operating and record inspection data.
• Visually differentiate between similar metals.
• Assist in other areas and perform other duties as needed.
