About The Position

The Loader/Cart Associate provides customer service and supports merchandise movement, order fulfillment, checkout, and general store needs. The role helps customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise; responds to customer and associate questions; prepares orders accurately; replenishes merchandise; collects carts; and maintains clean, organized, and safe areas inside the store and in the parking lot. Associates use store technology and power equipment safely, follow Lowe’s safety procedures, and report hazards, theft, and security concerns. Additional duties may be assigned. For Pro-focused Loader responsibilities, the associate supports Pro customer relationships from arrival through order completion, remains available in the Pro loading area, responds promptly to loading requests, assists with large or complex orders, and supports enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings. The associate maintains Pro standards in the parking lot and under the Pro canopy, completes required power-equipment and spotter training, and loads vehicles accurately and safely. For Garden Center Loader responsibilities, the associate assists customers and associates with loading and order completion, remains available throughout the Garden Center loading area, completes required power-equipment and spotter training, and loads vehicles while maintaining product accuracy and safety. The associate also supports large orders and partners with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of retail experience.
At least 6 months of experience as a Loader at a home improvement or hardware retailer.
At least 6 months of retail merchandising experience, including Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping.
At least 6 months of experience in any industry inspecting, carrying, loading, and unloading products or materials in or out of vehicles.

Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service in accordance with Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
Help customers locate, select, carry, and load merchandise and respond promptly to customer and associate questions.
Support checkout, fulfillment, and customer assistance needs throughout the store.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer and contractor orders accurately and efficiently.
Use power equipment and store technology safely and effectively to move, stage, and load merchandise.
Maintain in-stock conditions by down stocking and replenishing merchandise as needed.
Support large-order fulfillment while maintaining product quality and accuracy.
Collect carts and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas inside the store and in the parking lot.
Identify and report safety hazards, theft, and security concerns to management and/or Asset Protection.
Operate store equipment as needed for the role and department.
Communicate information about stock, special-order merchandise, product features, applications, warranties, and Lowe’s programs; provide project guidance when needed.
Follow Lowe’s safety policies and procedures, including proper use of power equipment, spotters, and safety devices.
For Pro Loader roles, support Pro customer relationships, assist with loading and order fulfillment, and maintain a visible presence in the Pro loading area and under the Pro canopy.
For Pro Loader roles, respond quickly to loading requests, support large or complex orders, build relationships with repeat Pro customers, and support enrollment in MyLowe’s Pro Rewards and Pro Credit offerings.
For Pro Loader roles, maintain Pro Standards and load vehicles accurately and safely using techniques appropriate to order size, weight, and fulfillment needs.
For Garden Center Loader roles, assist with customer loading and order completion, support large orders, and remain available throughout the Garden Center loading area.
For Garden Center Loader roles, partner with the Garden Center Department Supervisor to ensure orders are staged and ready for pickup.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
