About The Position

Tucker Ellis LLP is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Business Litigation group in the Orange County office in Irvine, California. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex commercial litigation matters in a collaborative, growth-focused environment. The firm is seeking an associate with 2–6 years of business litigation experience who wants to build a practice, gain hands-on experience, and work closely with experienced litigators on high-stakes matters. There is no expectation of bringing a portable book of business.

Starting compensation is $200,000 per year, with actual compensation dependent on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• 2–6 years of experience in business/commercial litigation.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with discovery, motion practice, and depositions.
• Admission to practice in California.

Responsibilities

• Represent corporate and individual clients in complex commercial disputes, including breach of contract, business torts, fraud, trade secrets, partnership/shareholder matters, and unfair competition claims.
• Support all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation evaluation through trial or resolution.
• Draft and argue motions, manage written discovery, and take and defend depositions.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Provide practical, business-focused legal analysis and recommendations.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and client development.
