About The Position

Hospital Central Services, Inc. & Affiliates (HCS), a linen rental service providing healthcare solutions, is hiring a Linen Courier (described in the posting as a Linen Transporter) to store and distribute linen at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The role involves distributing clean linen, retrieving soiled linen, maintaining accurate records, and keeping the linen room orderly. The employee is expected to act courteously and professionally and comply with HCS and hospital policies. This is a temporary position with the possibility of becoming full time. The anticipated starting salary is $16.00 per hour. Background checks and drug screenings are required, and an employment offer is contingent on successfully completing them.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent ability to understand and use software relevant to the position.
• Flexibility to cover either the 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. or 4:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. schedule.
• Availability to work every other weekend and some holidays.
• Successful completion of required background checks and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Pack clean linen orders into carts for distribution.
• Distribute filled linen carts to the appropriate facility areas and restock assigned patient-care units and ancillary areas as required.
• Retrieve soiled linen carts from facility areas and return empty soiled-linen carts to those areas.
• Accurately record information on paperwork and enter data into the tracking program.
• Store clean linen on shelves after verifying item numbers and types.
• Keep the linen room clean and orderly.
• Conduct oneself courteously and professionally and comply with HCS and hospital policies.
