About The Position

Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad. Saber Power Services is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Lineman Foreman to lead transmission and distribution crews in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground power lines and associated electrical equipment. This position is responsible for directing daily field activities, coordinating manpower and equipment, maintaining productivity and quality, and ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with project specifications, OSHA requirements, NESC standards, and company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong journeyman-level line experience, demonstrated leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage field crews in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship program.
  • Valid Journeyman Lineman certification or card (e.g., IBEW, NWLTC, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in line construction and maintenance, with demonstrated crew leadership or foreman experience preferred.
  • Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within 60 days.
  • Experience working on high-voltage transmission (69kV to 500kV) and/or substation tie-ins.
  • Live-line work experience (rubber glove or hot stick).
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, NESC, and utility safety practices.
  • First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, direct, and motivate a field crew.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, construction drawings, and job specifications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and respond to emergency restoration situations as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise linemen, apprentices, groundmen, and other field personnel in daily line construction and maintenance activities.
  • Plan and coordinate daily work activities based on project schedules, job requirements, and available manpower and equipment.
  • Build, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines and associated equipment.
  • Direct crews in the stringing, sagging, splicing, terminating, and connecting of conductors on structures and poles.
  • Supervise the setting of poles and installation of transformers, switchgear, and other line equipment.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed when climbing poles and working at heights up to and exceeding 100 feet.
  • Operate and direct the safe operation of aerial lifts, bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other line construction equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, job specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems involving electrical lines and equipment.
  • Conduct and participate in tailboard meetings, job briefings, and daily safety meetings.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, NESC standards, and applicable utility safety practices.
  • Monitor crew productivity, workmanship, and progress to ensure project schedules and quality expectations are met.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, customers, and other field personnel regarding daily work activities and project requirements.
  • Communicate jobsite conditions, manpower needs, material requirements, equipment needs, and potential issues to project management.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of tools, equipment, vehicles, and personal protective equipment.
  • Train, mentor, and develop apprentices, groundmen, and less-experienced linemen.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, emergency response, and restoration activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, production information, and other required project documentation.
  • Work in various weather conditions, during regular hours and emergency response situations.

  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
