About The Position

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing menu items from scratch ingredients with the kitchen team, ensuring the successful and timely execution of the menu. This role requires maintaining an understanding of all menu items and ingredients, assisting guests with dietary or preparation questions, and developing prep and order specifications. The Line Cook will also manage inventory levels, ensure the kitchen is properly stocked, and adhere to safety and cleanliness standards. This position involves jumping in to help the team with standard kitchen duties, operating and deep cleaning kitchen equipment, and supporting catering efforts for special events and group meetings. Other duties or special projects may be assigned by the Head Chef.

Requirements

  • 1+ years' previous culinary team experience.
  • Working knowledge of POS software.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Bending, reaching overhead and squatting.
  • Lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 75 lbs. without assistance.
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Remaining on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud (typical of a restaurant setting).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare menu items from scratch ingredients with the kitchen team.
  • Ensure the successful and timely execution of the menu.
  • Maintain an understanding of all menu items and ingredients.
  • Assist guests with any dietary or preparation questions and suggestions.
  • Develop prep and order specifications derived from multiple recipes at an assigned kitchen station.
  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure that the kitchen is properly stocked.
  • Follow safety and cleanliness standards and protocols for all assigned kitchen stations.
  • Participate in cleaning and sanitizing of all areas of the kitchen.
  • Jump in whenever needed to help the team with standard kitchen duties.
  • Have a working knowledge of how to operate and deep clean all kitchen equipment.
  • Support catering efforts for special events and group meetings.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by the Head Chef.
