About The Position

Davey Utility Line Clearance is hiring an experienced Line Clearance Groundperson to support a crew serving the Medina and Lorain County, Ohio regions for Lorain-Medina Rural Electric, including Wellington and Ashland. This is a full-time, hourly, onsite position. Travel expectations are up to 25%. Compensation is $18.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on line clearance or industry experience and CDL status. The position includes a performance incentive plan and industry-related and Davey training. Employment is permanent.

Requirements

A driver’s license is required.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Commercial driver’s license preferred and may be required depending on job requirements.
Pesticide license if required by state law.
Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines.
ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain it.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Support crew members by controlling lowering ropes, limbs, and people working aloft.
Supply tools to tree workers.
Control road and sidewalk traffic as needed using warning devices and other methods.
Cut, chip, and load brush and wood, and properly clean up the job site.
