About The Position

Lift Operators at Saskadena Six Ski Area provide safe, efficient, and courteous loading and unloading for guests riding the ski lifts. The role involves welcoming guests, responding to inquiries, following lift procedures, maintaining a safe and orderly lift area, and making timely decisions about lift speed to protect guest safety. The position is based outdoors and requires working in inclement weather, standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and shoveling snow.

Full-time seasonal and part-time seasonal positions are available. The stated schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, with a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour. Employees receive resort privileges, discounts, and a free employee meal. Employees hired into full-time positions may become eligible, after an initial waiting period, for medical, dental, and vision coverage; employer-paid life insurance and short- and long-term disability; paid time off; and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to stand for long periods in an outdoor environment.
• Ability to work outside during inclement weather.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and shovel snow.
• Ability to communicate and solve problems effectively.
• Motivation to provide great customer service.
• Ability to work cohesively with coworkers as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Prior lift experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests while loading and unloading the ski lift.
• Respond to guest inquiries in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Follow all lift opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure safety signs, mats, seat pads, and safety cones are in place, clear, and safe.
• Keep the lift area well maintained.
• Make quick decisions regarding lift speed to ensure guest safety.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
