About The Position

The YMCA of the North Shore is hiring a Lifeguard for its Salem YMCA pool. The Lifeguard helps maintain a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for members and program participants of all ages by actively monitoring swimmers and responding when needed. The role includes paid training, ongoing education, and team development opportunities. Lifeguard certification training may be available for qualified applicants who are not yet certified. The position offers varied shifts, including early mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration, or willingness to obtain certifications before starting.
• Calm, confident presence with strong attention to safety and detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Availability for both weekday and weekend shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Existing lifeguard certifications; training opportunities may be available for qualified applicants who need to obtain them.
