About The Position
The Lifeguard helps ensure the safety of pool participants and maintains safe, clean, and organized aquatic areas. The role is for individuals age 16 or older who have an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or can pass the course, and who have strong swimming skills and a passion for water safety. The YMCA offers support from its leadership team, opportunities to learn and grow, and the chance to contribute to a nonprofit organization working to strengthen the community.
Requirements
- Age 16 or older.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or ability to pass the course.
- Passion for water safety and strong swimming skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and surveillance of all pool participants.
- Understand and apply organizational safety procedures for the pool deck and aquatic areas.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing.
