About The Position

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking individuals age 16 and older to serve as lifeguards at the Phoenixville YMCA. Lifeguards help keep pool participants safe, apply aquatic-area safety procedures, and maintain the pool deck. The role offers opportunities to build communication, leadership, and responsibility skills, with support from the leadership team and opportunities to learn and grow at the YMCA.

Requirements

• Age 16 or older.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or ability to pass the course.
• Passion for water safety and strong swimming skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and surveillance of all pool participants.
• Understand and apply organizational safety procedures for the pool deck and aquatic areas.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing.
