About The Position
The Lifeguard helps maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for members and program participants at the Ipswich Family YMCA. The role includes actively monitoring swimmers and responding when needed, while working with a supportive aquatics team. The YMCA offers paid training and ongoing education, and qualified applicants who are not yet certified may have the opportunity to obtain certifications before starting. The position is part-time, with varied shifts that may include early mornings, daytime, evenings, and weekends. Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration, or willingness to obtain them before starting.
- Calm, confident presence with strong attention to safety and detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Availability for both weekday and weekend shifts.
Nice To Haves
- Prior lifeguard certifications and experience may qualify candidates for higher pay.
- Swim instructor capability; the posting notes Swim Instructors teach lessons using the YMCA of the USA swim curriculum.
